We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Killeen Cemetery
Kim Woo Jin Ae passed away at Seton Hospital on the evening of Saturday, January 29th, 2022, at the age of 97.
She was raised in Kimchon Gyeongsang Bukdo Republic of Korea and was happily married to the love of her life, Inchan Kim, for over 27 years.
After the passing of her beloved, she led a very hard but extraordinary life in Korea, ensuring that her four daughters were provided an education. As a single mother, she sacrificed an enormous amount of herself, in order to provide a decent life for her family.
She lived in Korea for 56 years, before coming to the United States in March of 1981, where she would live for the rest of her life.
Umma was wonderfully devoted to her 4 daughters, Kwang Suk (Willy), Hee Sook, Yeon Sook (Greg), and Mi Sook (Blair).
She was a loving Halmoni to Tina, Felicia, and Brook. She was an amazing Jeung Johalmoni to Nathaniel, Olivia, Nari, and Mina.
Jin Ae was a gentle soul and woman of faith, with very strong ties to the church. She was quite the avid gardener, and would grow her own hot peppers and vegetables, for use in her recipes. She had an incredible love for cooking and would feed everyone around her with amazing Korean food. She also found a love for American food, and would jump at the chance to eat it, on occasion.
She never wavered with the love she had for her family, and she will be sorely missed.
Funeral services will be held at 9:45am on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Heritage Funeral Home with James Shackleford officiating. Burial will follow at the Killeen Memorial Park.
